[Project #2] 1-minute video

  This video is a story come up by using original footage. When I was on the plane, I took a lot of beautiful scenery, and I wanted to use the scenery in front of me to cut out a dream about one of my daily life. This video contains the song I played while wearing headphones on the plane, and the sound of the bell on my headphone box. All these show that I am actually in a dream. 

There is also one thing that I have been thinking about. A day in my dream is actually only time for a three-minute song. This is a question that I think about every time I wake up from a dream. 

The inspiration for this video is because "'Time' has ceased, 'Space' has vanished." (McLuhan 63) Seeing this sentence, I think about that can these three minutes also be expressed as the speed of change in our current era? Imagine if you were a person who lived in 1921 and imagine how far away 2021 is, but in our eyes, this century has been very fast and has changed a lot. Like this day in a dream, it is actually only three minutes in real life.

    I feel the same sometimes. My body is on the earth but my mind is flying very far in the sky. It's dreaming.

I Hi! I'm Xiyue Zhang, and feel free to call me Sally. I'm from China, a country contains profound and lasting history. I was born in 2001, the second year of 21st century, which is an era of rapid development of information technology. Recently, I love sound very much: Sound editing, sound design, and play music. My world is quite simple, only consists of the Internet, film, and sound. But my world is also enriched because of the Internet, film, and sound. Also, my idols.  My Daily Life When I was in the primary school, my daily life: Go to the school, do my homework, and go outside to play with other children in the community. Now, my daily life: Go to the school, do my homework, stay at home to play with my phone and computer and to see films which only can be seen in the cinema in the past. [Project #3] Something is Happening

This photo is composed of three pictures of the same squirrel. Because of the synthesis, it looks like a squirrel running away and slowly becoming transparent. Give me a feeling of disappearing while running. I named this picture: "The Earth" because of the sentence "The stars are so big, The earth is so small." ( McLuhan 79 ) I thought, if I look at the earth from the perspective of a certain star, The earth is such a small one. "Professionalism is environmental. Amateurism is anti-environmental." ( McLuhan 93 ) As an artist, the perspective of seeing the world is always different from that of others. This sentence gave me such an inspiration.
